Send the model, drawing, or details you have. Tell us what the part needs to do, and we'll help figure out the best way forward.
Send a 3D model, drawing, photo, or whatever you have to work from.
Tell us what the part does, what it mounts to, and what it needs to withstand.
One part, a prototype run, or recurring production โ let us know what you're planning.
Know exactly what you want? Include it. Not sure? Tell us what the part needs to do and we'll recommend a material.
That's okay. Send what you have and tell us what you're trying to accomplish. We can help work through the material, part requirements, and production approach before anything gets made.
Have an NDA you need us to sign? Send it with your quote request. If you need one from us, just ask. We won't share your files or project details or use the work in our portfolio without your written permission.
Proto Layer produces engineering-grade 3D printed parts for prototypes, replacement components, fixtures, tooling, functional parts, and low-volume production. The right process and material depend on how the part needs to perform.
We work with engineering-grade polymers including filled nylons, structural and outdoor-rated materials, high-temperature materials, and flexible elastomers. If you aren't sure which material fits your application, tell us what the part needs to do and we'll recommend an appropriate option.
Yes. We make functional prototypes for checking fit, form, clearances, performance, and design before committing to production tooling or other manufacturing processes.
Yes. Replacement parts can often be reproduced from an existing part, 3D model, drawing, or other available information. We'll review the application and help determine whether 3D printing and an engineering-grade material are a good fit.
Yes. We produce everything from one-off parts and prototypes to low-volume production and repeat orders. Production 3D printing can be a practical option when you need functional parts without the upfront cost of traditional tooling.
Parts larger than the available build volume can be split into sections and assembled when the application allows. We'll determine whether that approach makes sense based on the part's size, function, and requirements.
Yes. Some projects need more than an additively manufactured part. We can coordinate machining, inserts, fasteners, bearings, finishing, and assembly through trusted partners when those additional processes or components are needed.
STEP files are preferred. STL and 3MF files are also accepted. If you don't have a 3D model, you can send a drawing, photo, or other information and we'll let you know what we need to evaluate the project.
Yes. Send your NDA with the project, or ask us for one. Your files and project details won't be shared or used as portfolio work without your written permission.
Send us your model, drawing, or whatever information you have, along with the quantity and application requirements. We'll review the project, ask any questions we need answered, recommend a material or approach when appropriate, and provide pricing.
